V-blog.- Introduction to facial aesthetics (featuring Sephy)

very-attractive-dudeIn this blog we are going to cover the basics of what makes a face attractive (facial aesthetics 101).  I will break it down in as simple and understandable terms as possibles, we will cover:

– Midface ratio
– Chin:piltrum ratio
– Interpupillary distance (IPD)
– Facial thirds

Mid-face ration.- Is the measurement of the mid-face length, most attractive faces have a ratio between .9 to 1.1 anything less than .9 is considered too long and anything more than 1.1 is considered too short. A good example of this is Sarah Jessica Parker, her mid face is too long = .82 which is why she has the same face shape as a horse.

Chin to philtrum ratio defines the proportion of the lower part of the face, experts consider the ideal ration to be around 2.25 for men and 2.0 for women. This means that the chin should be twice as long as the philtrum which is the strip between the upper lip and nose. Deviating from this ratio leads to disharmony of the face were the chin looks either too short or too long.

Interpupillary distance.- Measures the distance between the eyes, the ideal distance should be one eye length in between both eyes. If the eyes are above that, then they will appear too far apart, below that too close together. The positioning of the eyes can make or break a face
Facial thirds.- is the measurement of the 3 sections of the face, each sections should make 1/3 of the person face, if this deviate too far of 1/3, disharmony in the face happens.

The upper third.- Goes from the top of the hairline to the glabella between the eyebrows

The middle third.- It is measured from the glabella to the base of the nose

The lowered third.- It is measured form the base of the nose to the bottom of the chin.

Attractive faces have equally portion sections, 1/3 that is, here is video breaking this shit down, enjoy:
